WADSWORTH — Playing four matches in five days against perennially strong programs was a challenging slate for the Wadsworth volleyball team to start its season.
The Middies posted the three lowest scores of the day with junior Lucas Hendershot leading the way with a 5-over par 76 at Carlisle Golf Course as Midview cruised to a 24-stroke win over second-place Avon (336) in the Elyria Pioneer Invitational.
Amherst, which emerged victorious at the Grey Hawk Invitational on Tuesday, was unable to replicate the success, though it did finish eighth out of 22 teams.
The sophomore shot a 2-over-par 74 -- 14 strokes ahead of everyone else -- and Keystone posted four of the top six scores of the day on its way to a 347 total. The Wildcats finished 58 strokes ahead of second-place Bay (405).
