High school soccer: Seven county players make All-Ohio teams

WESTFIELD TWP. — Seven proved to be a lucky number for Medina County players when the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association revealed its All-Ohio teams.Medina goalie Bennett Werthmuller and Brunswick midfielder Owen Beskid earned boys Division I recognition, while Wadsworth forward Justin Lazzaretti and Cloverleaf forward Isaiah Kurtz were honored in D-II and D-III, respectively.On the girls side, Medina forward Emma McTigue took home All-Ohio honors in D-I, while Highland midfielder Vanessa Zufall repeated in D-II and Buckeye defender Julia King earned D-III accolades.Additionally, Medina's Doug Coreno was named D-I boys coach of the year after leading the Bees to Greater Cleveland Conference and district championships.
